A father faced consequences for slapping his daughter. Here's how the court dealt with his abusive behavior.

The Tuchyn District Court of the Vinnytsia region has sentenced a father for hitting his daughter in the face.

This is stated in the court's decision, which notes that the conflict between the father and daughter occurred back in November 2024.

The man slapped her, resulting in minor injuries in the form of a bruise.

The defendant fully admitted his guilt in committing the crime and expressed sincere remorse.

The court took into account the severity of the committed criminal offense, which, according to Article 12 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, is classified as a criminal misdemeanor. Additionally, the court considered the defendant's personal history, noting that he had no prior convictions and was not registered with a psychiatrist or narcologist.

He was found guilty of committing a criminal act under Part 1 of Article 125 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The father was sentenced to a fine equivalent to fifty times the non-taxable minimum income of citizens, amounting to 850.00 UAH.

"No preventive measure shall be applied to the accused until the sentence comes into legal force. The court's verdict may be appealed on the grounds provided for in Article 394 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine within 30 days from the date of its announcement," the court's decision states.
