On Monday, December 2, the air quality in Kyiv has deteriorated once again. Specifically, the worst air conditions are currently observed in the Desnyansky and Svyatoshyn districts, where harmful pollution levels have been recorded.
Similar harmful levels are also being reported in the Holosiivskyi and Podilskyi districts. This is confirmed by data from SaveEcoBot.
As of 08:00 on December 2, the overall air quality index in the city reached 89. The most alarming situation is in the Desnyansky district, where the index stands at 110, and in Svyatoshyn at 101. Meanwhile, at Akademika Zabolotnoho Street, 27, the air quality index has reached 157 — a record high for today.
In other districts of the capital, the average figures are somewhat better: in Dniprovskyi and Obolonsky – 80-84, in Pechersky – 84, in Solomiansky – 88, and in Shevchenkivsky – 81. This is considered a moderate level of pollution.
The weather is only worsening the air conditions. Currently, it is very humid in Kyiv – 97%, with a temperature of only +0.8°C, and there is no wind at all, so the air is not being cleaned naturally.
Polluted air can harm individuals with lung and heart diseases. Caution is also advised for children and the elderly.
Residents of Kyiv are advised to keep their windows closed, drink more water, and limit their time outdoors. This is especially important for those experiencing health issues.
Recall that earlier "Telegraf" reported that it is difficult to breathe in Kyiv and the region. The air in the capital is seriously polluted.
