The German Chancellor remains wary of escalation
Germany will continue to support Ukraine, but it must do everything possible to avoid escalation and not become a participant in the war.
This was stated by Chancellor Olaf Scholz during a speech in front of the Bundestag, as reported by UNIAN.
Scholz emphasized that his stance on supplying Ukraine with long-range missiles remains unchanged.
“I am opposed to the weapons we supply striking deep into Russian territory. And I will not change my position on supplying cruise missiles,” he said.
According to the Chancellor, this way Germany will “avoid responsibility for the escalation” of the Russian Federation's war against Ukraine.
