Ukraine is launching two new routes to the European Union.

Trains will start operating from December 15th.
Украина запускает два новых маршрута с Европейским Союзом.

Trains will start operating from December 15th

One of the trains will depart from Kyiv to Bratislava, as reported on Facebook by Oleksii Kuleba, the Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction of Ukraine and Minister of Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine.

The route to the capital of Slovakia will be serviced from December 15th by train No. 27/28 Kyiv – Chop – Kyiv and the new Slovak railway train No. 617/961 Chop – Bratislava – Chop.

The international connection between the capitals of Ukraine and Slovakia aims to link Kyiv, Lviv, and Mukachevo with Bratislava and other major cities in neighboring Slovakia (Košice, Žilina, Trnava, Trenčín, Poprad). It also opens up a wide range of travel options to most cities in the Czech Republic, including Prague.

Transfers between trains are coordinated, and the purchase of two tickets can be completed with a single click in the mobile app and on the official website of "Ukrzaliznytsia."

Starting from December 15th, train No. 9/10 will also operate from Kyiv to Budapest – a major railway and aviation hub, reports Oleksii Kuleba.

The schedule is designed to ensure that passengers can conveniently transfer to trains heading to Vienna (with less than three hours of travel), Salzburg, Munich, Innsbruck, and Zurich. The waiting time between trains will not exceed two hours. Convenient transfers to trains heading to Romania, Slovenia, and other European countries are also included.

This is another step towards integrating Ukraine into the European Union. Ukraine continues to work on modernizing its existing infrastructure and developing rolling stock.
