President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky commented on the information released by the New York Times regarding Ukraine's request to the US for Tomahawk missiles with a range of 2400 kilometers.

As stated by Zelensky to representatives of European media on October 30, such a request did indeed occur, reports UNIAN.

At the same time, the President stressed that this was confidential information between Ukraine and the White House and expressed outrage that this information had entered the public domain.

“How should we interpret these messages? This suggests that there is nothing confidential between partners,” Zelensky said.

He also explained why Ukraine initiated a military operation in the Kursk region. According to Zelensky, this was a response to Putin's plans to create a "buffer zone" in northern and eastern Ukraine. In particular, due to the actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Kursk, it was possible to save Sumy from occupation.

Zelensky separately commented on the situation regarding the potential seizure of the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant.

“Russia thinks they are very strong, but if we wanted to seize their nuclear power plant, we could have done it; we had the capability, but we never wanted that because we understand what it would mean to become like Russia. We do not occupy their critical infrastructure, as they do with the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant,” emphasized Zelensky.
