Former girlfriend of Hollywood star Nicolas Cage, Kristina Fulton, has filed a lawsuit against him and their son, claiming "life-threatening injuries" that she alleges she sustained during an alleged altercation last year.
This was reported by BBC, as noted by UNN.
Details
Kristina Fulton accuses her 34-year-old son, Weston Cage, whom she described as a "300-pound professional fighter," of attacking her without any provocation.
In her lawsuit, Fulton charges her son with assault and battery, while accusing Nicolas Cage of negligence, stating that he failed to take appropriate measures to stop his son's aggressive behavior despite being aware of Weston's mental health issues.
The lawsuit also seeks compensation for physical, emotional, and economic damages that Fulton claims to have suffered as a result of the attack. Nicolas Cage's lawyers have dismissed the lawsuit as "frivolous."
Weston Cage was arrested last June and charged with two felonies related to assault with a deadly weapon after accusations of attacking his mother and another person. He has pleaded not guilty to both charges.
Fulton claims she visited her son on April 28, 2024, after receiving "urgent messages" from his friends, according to the civil complaint filed in the Los Angeles County Superior Court.
According to her, upon her arrival, Weston Cage attacked her in a "maniacal rage," beating her in a parking lot, in an elevator, and in the lobby of his home. The lawsuit states that she sustained a concussion, multiple bruises, injuries to her neck and throat, dental injuries, tinnitus, abdominal injuries, and post-traumatic stress disorder.
Additionally, Fulton alleges that Nicolas Cage was aware of their son's "long-standing history of mental and psychological disorders" and previous alleged instances of "violent attacks and battery," yet he continued to enable such behavior by providing him with financial support.
Specifically, the lawsuit also mentions that Nicolas Cage purchased an apartment for his son next to his own home, picked him up from jail multiple times, and drank alcohol with him, despite knowing about his struggle with drug addiction. Nicolas Cage's lawyers have labeled the lawsuit as "absurd," asserting that he is not responsible for the actions of his adult son.
