Around 2 million cultural heritage items in Ukraine are under Russian occupation.

The Minister of Culture announced that approximately 2 million elements of Ukraine's cultural heritage are currently under occupation. Additionally, 1,700 cultural institutions have been destroyed, and stolen artifacts are surfacing on the black market.

Approximately 2 million Ukrainian cultural heritage items are currently under Russian occupation. This was reported by the Minister of Culture and Strategic Communication, Mykola Tochitsky, during the International Forum "Diplomacy Today: Ukraine's Role in Global Politics," as conveyed by UNN.

"What is our age-old enemy aiming at? They are targeting not only homes and seizing territories, but also our identity. About 2 million elements of our cultural heritage are now under occupation," Tochitsky stated.

He noted that due to Russian aggression, around 1,700 artistic and cultural institutions in Ukraine have already been destroyed.

Tochitsky reported that approximately 1.7 million cultural artifacts remain in the occupied territories of Ukraine.

The Prosecutor General's Office informed that artifacts stolen from Ukrainian museums and archaeological sites have begun appearing on the international black market.
