Ben Affleck's ex-wife has limited contact with Jennifer Lopez: here's why.

Hollywood actress Jennifer Garner "no longer wishes" to communicate with singer Jennifer Lopez, according to sources who claim that Garner will only engage with Lopez if it concerns her children, reports the Daily Mail, as noted by UNN.

Previously, insiders informed the publication that 52-year-old Garner felt she was being used as a "pawn" during Lopez's divorce from Ben Affleck.

A few months before the 55-year-old singer officially filed for divorce from the star of "Argo," Garner took on the role of a "marriage consultant" for the couple, and some friends were concerned that she was forced to "play the intermediary."

Now, Garner has decided to distance herself from Lopez and focus all interactions solely on the children in their large family.

"Jen no longer wishes to communicate with J.Lo unless it pertains to the kids," a Daily Mail source stated.

"Her friends believe she shouldn't have allowed herself to become so involved in helping J.Lo fix her marriage with Ben," the insider noted.

"Especially considering that Jen sometimes felt like she was in competition with J.Lo during their marriage. Jen is too kind and genuinely wanted to help, so she tried," the source added.

Garner's eldest daughter, 18-year-old Violet, has clearly made efforts to stay close to Lopez.

After spending the summer in the Hamptons with her former stepmother, Violet raised eyebrows in early November when Lopez's sister Linda visited the Yale University student at her Ivy League school.

Garner found this interaction "strange," according to an insider who said that although the actress wanted to maintain distance, she never spoke poorly of the "On the Floor" hitmaker.

"Jen found it odd that J.Lo got close to Violet, and then Linda showed up at Violet's school," they said.

"Jen's loyalty is to the father of her children and their kids," the insider stated. "Since they love J.Lo, Jen will never criticize her or speak negatively about her."

Garner and Affleck divorced in 2018 after 13 years of marriage but remained close, continuing to co-parent their three children amicably.
