Bridge of Spies (2015) – This film is based on real historical events. The story unfolds during the so-called "Cold War." During this time, diplomatic relations between the USA and the Soviet Union sharply deteriorated, and although an actual conflict was averted, a show of strength and a race for military preparedness continued for years. Thanks to the actions of the CIA, a Russian spy who was passing information to his superiors is discovered. The suspect is arrested, and the case goes to court. The public demands the execution of the villain to demonstrate their country's might and power. The Russian spy refuses to speak in his defense, remaining silent despite various tortures. James Donovan, an ordinary insurance lawyer, is assigned to defend the spy to ensure a fair trial.
The Day After Tomorrow (2004) – Climatologist Jack Hall has long suspected that significant changes are on the horizon. His fears soon begin to materialize. The permafrost is melting, and massive torrents of icy water are rapidly lowering ocean temperatures. Unprecedented natural disasters rage across the globe. However, the government ignores the warnings and is slow to declare an emergency, dismissing the calamities as localized outbreaks. Meanwhile, Jack's son, who has traveled to New York with friends, finds himself in peril. The rapid climate shift catches him far from home. The sudden drop in temperature is so unexpected that most people perish, taken by surprise by this raging force of nature. Fortunately, the young man manages to escape, but now he must wait for his father, who is trying to reach him through the treacherous icy wasteland.
The Huntsman: Winter's War (2016) – For many years, Freya and Ravenna ruled their kingdom together, but one day the Dark Queen betrayed her sister, forcing her to flee. Later, the Ice Queen establishes her own castle and recruits the strongest boys and girls from nearby villages, planning to train them as skilled warriors to protect her from any enemies, including Ravenna. The Queen's plans succeed – years of training pay off, and the once-young recruits gradually become seasoned warriors capable of handling any task. With one exception – Eric and Sara, two of Freya's students, break her main rule and fall in love. When their ruler learns of this, she swiftly casts the offenders out of the palace. Once free, the heroes of this spectacular fantasy find new allies who reveal the truth to them: despite their enmity, the sisters pose a real threat to the entire world. Agreeing with what they have learned, the lovers lead an army determined to put an end to the sisters' tyranny.
Winter's Tale (2014) – When the film's protagonist, Peter Lake, was just an infant, his parents attempted to move to America, but due to his father's tuberculosis, they were denied entry. They then sent their son alone. Years later, when Peter grows up, he becomes a professional thief working under the gangster Pearly Soames, who exploits the young man's talents for his criminal schemes.
However, one day Peter becomes tired of this life and decides to escape the city to start anew. Just at that moment, something unexpected happens – Peter falls in love with a beautiful girl named Beverly Penn, who is slowly succumbing to a serious illness. What will Peter do in this situation? Choosing Beverly would surely put her in grave danger, as his former boss, possessing magical abilities, is on his trail.
The Hateful Eight (2015) – The film is set in Wyoming after the Civil War. John "The Hangman" Ruth, who makes a living capturing fugitive criminals, is headed to Red Rock with a rich bounty, the bandit Daisy Domergue. In town, the criminal awaits her sentence and the gallows, while her fortunate pursuer is promised a reward of ten thousand dollars. On their way to the stagecoach, Ruth picks up two passengers – a black bounty hunter, the mercenary "Major" Warren, and former Confederate Chris Mannix, who claims to be a sheriff. A snowstorm forces the unlikely companions to take refuge in a haberdashery at the pass. Already there are another four: a cowboy, a Mexican, a retired Confederate general, and a local short criminal. Soon, one of the "lawmen" accompanying Daisy begins to suspect that among the establishment's patrons lies a confederate of the bloody bandit.
