Marvel has unveiled the first trailer for the film "The Fantastic Four: First Steps," reports UNN.
Details
The film stars Pedro Pascal ("The Last of Us") as Mr. Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby ("Napoleon") as the Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn ("Stranger Things") as the Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach ("The Bear") as The Thing. The cast also includes Ralph Ineson as Galactus, Julia Garner as Silver Surfer, Paul Walter Hauser, Natasha Lyonne, and John Malkovich.
The trailer, as noted by Variety, provides insight into each hero's life before and after they gained their powers, along with a brief overview of the villain Galactus. However, it emphasizes the importance of the Fantastic Four as a united team: "Whatever life throws at us, we face it together - as a family," Kirby states in the video clip.
This version of "The Fantastic Four" is said to be set in a retro-futuristic Manhattan of the 1960s. Producer Kevin Feige confirmed in "The Official Marvel Podcast" that the film will be a historical piece filmed in New York, although he mentioned it might not be the New York that fans are familiar with in the MCU.
"The Fantastic Four: First Steps" will hit theaters on July 25.
Additional Information
The two previous versions of "The Fantastic Four" were brought to the big screen by 20th Century Fox before Disney acquired the company and worked on bringing Marvel's "First Family" into the MCU. In the 2000s, Ioan Gruffudd, Jessica Alba, Chris Evans, and Michael Chiklis portrayed the heroes in two films, followed by the unsuccessful 2015 reboot featuring Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan, and Jamie Bell.
