Following the unusually warm January, a frosty February is on the way – temperatures are expected to drop to -21 degrees Celsius in the last month of winter. Over the weekend of February 1-2, the air temperature will still be relatively high, but not everywhere, and significant parts of the country will be affected by rain mixed with snow.

According to the forecasts from the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, on Saturday, February 1, temperatures at night are expected to range from +2 to +6 degrees, and during the day, the air will warm up to 2-9 degrees Celsius. Light wet snow and rain are predicted during the day in the Ivano-Frankivsk and Chernivtsi regions.

On Sunday, February 2, precipitation in the form of wet snow and rain will cover the vast majority of Ukraine, except for the Zaporizhia, Kherson, Chernivtsi, Ivano-Frankivsk regions, Transcarpathia, and Crimea. It will also get colder, with temperatures dropping below zero overnight: from -1 to +5. During the day, it will also be frosty in some areas, with temperatures in the western part of the country, excluding Transcarpathia, ranging from -1 degree to +1 degree Celsius. In the rest of the country, temperatures will range from 0 to +7.

As noted by the well-known forecaster Igor Kibalchich in his interview with "Telegraph," with the arrival of February, the weather will gradually start to change, and winter will remind us of its presence with a noticeable drop in temperature, increasing winds, and snowfall. The coldest period is expected between February 8 and 10.
