Surpassing Shmyhal by 30,000: Discover the salary of Ukraine's Minister of Environmental Protection (document).

The salaries of Ukrainian officials continue to astonish the citizens of Ukraine. For instance, the Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine, Svitlana Hrynchuk, earned over 100,000 hryvnias in her first month of 2025. This is slightly more than that of Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.

According to the official response from the state secretary of the ministry to a request from the publication "Telegraph", the minister's official salary is set at 109,730 hryvnias. The total amount of accrued salary for January was 131,676 hryvnias, from which, after tax deductions, 101,390.52 hryvnias were paid out.

The document also notes that throughout 2024, the minister did not receive financial assistance for social and household issues or vacation funds.

For comparison, the average salary in Kyiv, according to the website Work.ua for February 2025, is around 26,900 hryvnias. Thus, the salary of the Minister of Environmental Protection is approximately four times higher than the average salary in the capital.

What is known about Hrynchuk

Recall that in September 2024, the Verkhovna Rada appointed a new Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources. The position was taken by Svitlana Hrynchuk. This decision was supported by 246 members of parliament.

She was born in the Chernivtsi region. She received her financial and economic education at the Chernivtsi Trade and Economic Institute.

During her tenure at the Ministry of Environmental Protection, she oversaw the ratification and implementation of the Paris Climate Agreement and ensured Ukraine's compliance with international obligations under the Kyoto and Montreal Protocols.

On July 29, 2022, by the order of the Cabinet of Ministers, she was appointed as the Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine for European integration. In this role, she coordinated efforts regarding climate change, Euro-integration, sustainable development, energy efficiency, and climate finance.

She served as an advisor on a voluntary basis to the head of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine and the Prime Minister of Ukraine.

In 2023, before being appointed as the Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine (on September 5, 2023), she was the director of the Reform Support Office at the Ministry of Energy.
