The nominations for the Oscar film award, considered by many to be the most prestigious in the world, were announced on Thursday, January 23.
As expected, Jacques Audiard's "Emilia Perez" tops the list of contenders for the "Oscar-2025" with 13 nominations. Following are "Brutalist" (directed by Brady Corbet) and "Wicked: The Sorceress" by Jon Chu, each with 10 nominations, along with Edward Berger's "Conclave" with 8 nominations.
"Complete Unknown," a biographical musical-drama film from 2024 directed by James Mangold, also has 8 nominations.
Among the most nominated films are: "Anora" by Sean Baker (6), "Substance" by Coralie Fargeat (5), and "Dune: Part 2" by Denis Villeneuve (5).
UNN noted that the documentary film "Porcelain War," directed by American Brendan Bellomo and Ukrainian Slava Leontiev, one of the film's main characters, is nominated for the Oscar 2025 in the category "Best Feature Documentary".
