The Time Machine (2002) - This science fiction film is based on the popular novel of the same name by H.G. Wells. The love interest of the main character, young professor Alexander Hartdegen, tragically dies. Emma's death deeply affects the talented scientist, and he decides to do everything possible to turn back time and save her. With a heavy heart, Alexander learns that the past cannot be changed. Testing his theories with the time machine he invented himself, Hartdegen travels 800,000 years into the future, where he discovers that humanity has divided into hunters and the hunted.
About Time (2013) - On his twenty-first birthday, young and naive Tim learns a family secret: all the men in his family can travel through time. He decides to use his newfound abilities for personal gain, especially since he has a compelling reason—his first date with his beloved girl did not go well, and now he has the chance to make a better impression on her. Tim is convinced that love does not always happen instantly at first sight, which means he has every chance to win her heart. He intends to time travel and repeat their first date until their feelings become mutual. However, Tim soon discovers that not all events in his life can be fixed, and that every change comes with its own consequences...
Safety Not Guaranteed (2012) - This witty comedy features an unusual premise and an amusing plot. A strange advertisement appears in a Seattle newspaper, claiming that someone is looking for a companion for time travel. He does not guarantee safety but asserts that he has already experienced this method. Almost anyone would say that the author of the ad is crazy, but the newspaper editor and three young journalists think otherwise. They set out to find the time traveler to conduct a journalistic investigation. In a coastal town, the paparazzi quickly locate the author of the ad—a supermarket clerk named Kenneth. It remains to determine whether he is a prankster or a self-taught inventor, but the FBI unexpectedly intervenes.
Predestination (2014) - To prevent crimes, a special team of time-traveling police officers was assembled, one of whom is the main character of the film. He can proudly boast of his achievements. No criminal can escape him, even in the distant past. At the height of his professional and personal fame, he suddenly loses the love of his colleagues and superiors. A puzzle appears that even he cannot solve, which threatens not just one global catastrophe. For instance, New York could disappear from the face of the Earth at any moment.
Synchronic (2019) - Paramedics in New Orleans, Steve and Dennis, encounter a series of strange and insane murders. Their job is to respond only to cases where people are on the brink of life and death. Recently, they have been facing victims who each time are found with a similar packet of white powder nearby. Eventually, Dan and Steve decide to track down someone who managed to escape that world after using the drug. It turns out to be not so easy. During their investigation, they discover an interesting fact: according to the information they received, people who consumed this substance mentally shifted between two worlds—at that moment, their hearts stopped beating.
