Assistant to the Member of Parliament Daniil Getmantsev, Yevhen Sokur, in a declaration submitted following his dismissal from the position of Deputy Chairman of the State Tax Service of Ukraine, has finally remembered his partner Alina Lebedeva after more than 8 years of cohabitation. This was prompted by the NABU beginning to monitor his lifestyle, as reported by UNN.
How it all began
Earlier, during the investigation into the alleged assassination attempt against him, Yevhen Sokur informed law enforcement that he had been living with a girl named Alina since 2016 in an apartment on Lobanovskyi Avenue, 6-D. However, Sokur never mentioned his partner in his declarations. Following a parliamentary inquiry from Nina Yuzhanina, a member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Financial, Tax, and Customs Policy, the NABU initiated an investigation regarding Yevhen Sokur. In response to a request from UNN, the Agency also confirmed that they are conducting monitoring of the official's lifestyle. Kateryna Butko, Chair of the Public Council at the NABU, noted that the National Agency for Corruption Prevention is verifying whether Sokur has been living with his partner Alina.
It later emerged that Sokur lives with Alina Lebedeva. According to the Youcontrol system, the girl registered as an individual entrepreneur on August 3, 2022. The primary type of activity is retail trade in flowers, plants, seeds, fertilizers, pets, and pet food in specialized stores. It is worth mentioning that Sokur assumed a managerial position in the tax service less than three months prior to this - in May 2022. In just over a year of work during the full-scale war, Alina Lebedeva's business thrived so much that on her birthday, November 1, 2023, she announced the opening of a flower boutique in the heart of the capital - in the "Leonardo" business center.
According to the head of the #SaveFOP Movement, Serhiy Dorotych, the stunning success of Sokur's partner may be linked to another very interesting aspect - the legalization of funds through her business.
The head of the NABU, Viktor Pavlushchik, commented to UNN that the agency continues its monitoring of Yevhen Sokur's lifestyle.
It hasn't been 9 years yet
In a declaration dated January 29, 2025, Yevhen Sokur stated that he lives with Alina Lebedeva in his apartment in Kyiv.
Furthermore, Sokur indicated that he also owns an apartment in the village of Tarasivka, Kyiv region, with an area of 62.9 square meters. He has also been renting a parking space in Kyiv since January 2024, although he did not specify the cost.
Strangely, the declaration does not mention any property ownership rights of Alina Lebedeva.
Sokur noted that his partner owns a 2008 LEXUS RX350. However, according to the declaration data, Alina Lebedeva did not provide Sokur with information on when she purchased the car and for what amount. Yet, the Youcontrol system indicates that the last registration date for the vehicle was March 13, 2021.
Sokur also mentioned that his partner is engaged in entrepreneurial activities, but he did not state her income. According to him, Alina Lebedeva did not provide him with this information, which is also odd given that the couple has been living together since 2016.
Even more peculiar is that Alina Lebedeva has no funds whatsoever, neither in the four bank accounts she holds in various Ukrainian banks nor in cash. In contrast, Sokur possesses $125,000 and 50,000 hryvnias in cash. The former official has 180,154 hryvnias, 2 dollars, and 839 euros in his accounts.
Hiding is not an option
It is possible that by concealing information about his partner's income and the funds in her accounts, Sokur was attempting to evade responsibility. However, as Kateryna Butko, Chair of the Public Council at the National Agency for Corruption Prevention, explained to UNN, he will still have to provide this information to the NABU.
Butko also reminded that providing false information in declarations can lead to administrative or criminal liability, depending on the amount of inaccuracies in the declaration.
Let us remind you
Yevhen Sokur is also being investigated for a criminal offense related to abuse of power. This case was opened by the State Bureau of Investigations on November 4, 2022, under part 3 of Article 365 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, regarding the abuse of office by Sokur, who on October 26, 2022, signed an order to revoke the license of PJSC "UkrTatNafta" for fuel production. Such actions by the official, according to the investigation, resulted in severe consequences for both society and the state, hindering the Ministry of Defense's ability to fulfill mobilization tasks related to the production and supply of petroleum products for defense needs. The State Bureau of Investigations informed UNN that this criminal case is still under investigation.
