The decision regarding the installation of the main Christmas tree in Kyiv will be made at the end of November. If approved, it will traditionally be located at Sofia Square. This was reported by Kyiv City Council member Victoria Mukha, who chairs the permanent commission on culture, tourism, and public communications, during a broadcast on one of Ukraine’s television channels, as conveyed by UNN.
“Will there be a Christmas tree installed this year? This decision will be made by the Kyiv Defense Council at the end of November, taking into account the law on the peculiarities of martial law, the security situation, and the recommendations of the relevant authorities. If this decision is made, the traditional place for the Christmas tree will be Sofia Square,” Mukha stated.
She noted that, as in the previous two years, budget funds will not be allocated for the tree installation.
Additionally, according to her, mass events, including New Year and Christmas celebrations, will not be held in Kyiv under martial law.
Supplement
Last year, the main Christmas tree was inaugurated on December 6 at Sofia Square.
It was decorated with ornaments in the shape of hearts in blue and gold colors. The tree itself also featured white accents.
