On Saturday, November 16, Japanese Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya made an unannounced visit to Ukraine. This is reported by Kyodo News, as stated by UNN.
Details
It is noted that Iwaya arrived in Ukraine for talks with officials, seemingly to demonstrate Tokyo's commitment to Kyiv in its fight against Russian military aggression, which now also involves North Korean troops.
According to the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Takeshi Iwaya will hold discussions with officials in Kyiv. A ministry representative stated that after arriving in Ukraine by train from Poland, Iwaya will meet with his Ukrainian counterpart Andriy Sibiga on Saturday, with possible talks later that day with President Volodymyr Zelensky.
This visit comes amid Donald Trump's return to the White House following his victory in the U.S. presidential elections on November 5 of this year.
