On Thursday, January 30, the death toll from the Russian army's strike on Sumy rose to 4. Additionally, 9 individuals sustained injuries of varying severity, including 1 child.
Rescue operations are ongoing. This was reported by the Sumy Regional Military Administration.
Previously, rescuers at the site of the strike on a residential building in Sumy discovered the bodies of two individuals, specifically a man and a woman. This was reported by the State Emergency Service.
According to local publication "Kordon.Media", rescuers allegedly may have found another person under the rubble. However, there was no official confirmation.
The Sumy City Council noted that electricity, water, and heating supply have been cut off in the building that was hit. Additionally, one stairwell has no gas (40 subscribers are without blue fuel).
During the attack on Ukraine on the night of January 29 to 30, Russian occupiers targeted a residential high-rise building in Sumy with strike drones. As a result of the impact, the building sustained damage and injuries were reported.
Preliminary reports indicate that nine apartments and 12 balconies were destroyed as a result of the attack. As noted by the State Emergency Service, rescuers saved four individuals, including a child. A total of 118 people were evacuated.
Earlier, "Telegraph" reported that Russian troops struck a school in Novopavlivka with two guided aerial bombs (KAB). The institution was completely destroyed.
