The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has responded to the scandal involving Ukrainian blogger and volunteer Sergey Sternenko, stating that they highly value his contributions to the war effort.
This information is reported by Ukrainian Truth, citing the press service of the General Staff. They emphasized that all citizens of Ukraine must adhere to the Constitution, particularly regarding mobilization.
"This specifically pertains to the effective cooperation with the Defense Forces by volunteer and public figure Sergey Sternenko. At the same time, the mobilization of specific citizens is carried out based on the decisions of the territorial recruitment and social support centers, which have the authority to issue summonses to military personnel for the purpose of updating their records and undergoing medical examinations," — stated the General Staff.
According to the press service, if Sternenko has violated Ukrainian law, he has been declared wanted in accordance with existing regulations. There is nothing more to it.
"For it is only in consolidation and unity that the strength of Ukrainians lies, and it is the key to victory over the treacherous, ancestral Russian enemy," — concludes the General Staff press service.
At the same time, the General Staff has not commented on the accusation made by Sternenko against Commander-in-Chief Alexander Syrsky regarding the "leak" of his data and his being declared wanted.
It is worth noting that the scandal involving the volunteer is gaining momentum, as many military personnel publicly come to his defense.
Earlier, "Telegraph" reported that the Odessa Territorial Recruitment Center clarified the situation regarding the search for Sternenko.
