What does Zelensky think about the ban on Telegram in Ukraine?

In Ukraine, discussions about the possibility of implementing a blockade have been ongoing for quite some time.
Как Зеленский оценивает запрет Telegram в Украине?

President Volodymyr Zelensky opposes the ban on the messaging app Telegram in Ukraine. However, he is concerned about how this platform is being used by Russia for conducting information campaigns.

This was revealed by the advisor to the head of state on communication issues, Dmytro Litvin, in an interview with journalist Kyrylo Peredria. According to the official, the messaging app is utilized not only by Russian forces.

"He (Zelensky, — ed.) is particularly worried about the anonymity of certain Telegram channels and how they are used in information operations against Ukraine," — he stated.

Litvin pointed out that the proposed legislation to ban Telegram does not consider the position of millions of people who, for example, use the messaging app to track air alerts. Additionally, he mentioned that many patriotic channels, intelligence services, and officials also use this means of communication.

According to him, Ukraine's actions should focus on increasing the transparency of the messaging app rather than completely blocking it.

Earlier, "Telegraph" reported that deputies of the Poltava Regional Council began preparations for a vote on the ban on the popular messaging app Telegram. They claimed that Telegram's servers are located in Russia.
