Air quality will significantly deteriorate. Which regions of Ukraine are facing an incoming cloud of pollution? (See map)

Next week, air quality will significantly deteriorate in certain regions of Ukraine. Specifically, forecasts indicate that this situation will be observed in the Zhytomyr and Chernivtsi regions, as well as in the Donetsk region.

This is evident from the forecasts of the Ventusky portal. In particular, air quality will worsen on Tuesday, February 25. In the Zhytomyr region, air pollution levels are expected to reach up to 119 units, which is categorized as "very unhealthy" air.

Air quality will also be poor in the Chernivtsi region, where the pollution level is forecasted to be around 54 units.

Unhealthy air will also be present in the Donetsk region, although the pollution will affect only a small part of the area.

It’s worth noting that the air quality index is calculated using the NowCast formula (US EPA) for the main air pollutant – fine particulate matter PM2.5. Polluted air can have negative effects on people's health and well-being.

As reported by "Telegraf," soon Ukraine will experience a significant warm-up. Even before the official start of spring, temperatures in some parts of Ukraine may rise to +15 degrees.
