Is a world without Crimea impossible? In the US, strong opinions emerged regarding Zelensky's vision of victory.

The President of Ukraine is advised to adopt a more realistic approach.
Без Крыма мир невозможен? В США резко прокомментировали взгляды Зеленского на то, как он представляет себе победу.

The U.S. does not aim to achieve peace in Ukraine by reclaiming Crimea, as they believe it "no longer exists." Zelensky's aspirations to return to the borders of 1991 are deemed unrealistic.

This viewpoint was voiced by Brian Lanza, senior advisor to newly elected President Donald Trump, as reported by the BBC. According to him, the new U.S. administration will focus on achieving peace in Ukraine rather than on reclaiming territories occupied by Russia.

Brian Lanza asserts that during this discussion, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky must present his version of a "realistic vision for peace."

"And if President Zelensky sits down and says, well, we can have peace only if we get Crimea back, he shows us that he is not serious,” Lanza stated.

The senior Trump advisor explains that Crimea has been occupied for over 10 years, since 2014. Zelensky constantly states that his priority is to end the war and halt the depletion of U.S. resources for military aid to Ukraine.

However, he simultaneously talks about reclaiming occupied territories, which is unrealistic and "not a goal of the United States."

"When Zelensky says that we will only stop this struggle, and peace will only come after the return of Crimea, we have news for President Zelensky: Crimea no longer exists,” Lanza said on the BBC World Service Weekend program. “And if your priority is the return of Crimea and the fight of American soldiers to reclaim Crimea, then that's on you."
