On Sunday, January 19, an explosive device detonated in one of the radio studios in Kyiv. Preliminary investigations suggest that an army detonator exploded.

This information was reported by the Kyiv police. The details about the explosion were received today by the Pechersk police department.

A forensic team and bomb disposal experts were promptly dispatched to the scene. As a result, there is one injured person.

"It has been preliminarily established that an army detonator, which was displayed as an exhibit in the premises, exploded. A woman born in 1999 was injured and has been hospitalized," law enforcement officials stated.

A criminal case has been initiated under Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine concerning illegal handling of weapons, military munitions, or explosives. All circumstances surrounding the incident are being clarified.

According to the online publication "Public", the explosion occurred in the studio of the "Army FM" radio station. The publication notes that this explosive device had been in the premises since 2019.

Previously, "Telegraph" reported that in Bucha, near Kyiv, a man threw a grenade towards his sister and her acquaintance. The incident was triggered by a trivial argument that began during a gathering.
