The United States of America has temporarily suspended the sale of arms to Ukraine. Military companies that are supposed to deliver weapons under contracts are currently just waiting.
This was stated by Roman Kostenko, a member of parliament from the "Voice" party and head of the defense committee of the Verkhovna Rada, to journalist Natalia Moseichuk.
UPD as of 08:00 on February 21. MP Alexander Goncharenko claims that the statements made by his colleague Roman Kostenko regarding the halt of arms sales by the U.S. are true. According to him, this has been confirmed by sources in American defense companies.
At the same time, MP Alexandra Ustinova stated that the U.S. has not stopped selling arms to Ukraine.
According to Kostenko, suppliers are forced to wait due to the lack of a corresponding decision from the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump. This affects even those firms that had planned to carry out deliveries as early as tomorrow.
"Even those firms that were supposed to be delivering for sale tomorrow are waiting because there is no decision," he noted. According to the parliamentarian, this affects not only American but also European companies that require permission from the U.S. to sell weapons.
"And everyone is waiting to see if there will be a decision, at least to supply weapons here for money," added the head of the defense committee.
The situation is unfolding against the backdrop of complex diplomatic relations between the U.S. and Ukraine, along with a series of high-profile statements made by Donald Trump regarding Zelensky.
Recall that U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance stated: "European arms depots are empty, and Russia has a numerical advantage — new supplies to Ukraine will not help. Peace is needed."
