A resident of Kharkiv inflicted multiple stab wounds on his neighbor using a pitchfork; however, the victim managed to survive. The accused was the instigator of the conflict, stemming from long-standing animosity between them.
The assailant acted with great composure and was fully aware of the illegal nature of his actions. Details of the attack are reported in the Unified State Register of Court Decisions.
According to the case materials, the man struck his neighbor with a pitchfork in the nose, left ear, and left eye. The victim attempted to evade the blow, which caused him to lose his balance and grab onto a passerby, resulting in both of them falling to the ground. As a result, the victim sustained a bruise to his right elbow and right wrist.
Following this, the assailant used the metal part of the pitchfork to deliver another blow, which struck the right groin and the right forearm.
Fortunately, all the inflicted injuries are classified as minor bodily harm, as confirmed by the forensic medical examination.
During the court hearing, the accused claimed that the neighbor had started hitting his mother in the street. In a state of shock, he allegedly tried to protect her, which led to the fight. He also denied having pitchforks in his hands.
The court heard arguments from all parties and ruled that the accused's claims that the neighbor allegedly struck his mother, leading to the conflict, were not supported by any objective evidence in the criminal proceedings.
The attacker was found guilty of intentionally causing minor bodily harm and was sentenced to 160 hours of community service.
Previously, "Telegraph" reported that a brutal murder of an elderly woman using a knife and hammer occurred in the Rokytnianska community in Kyiv region. It turned out that the crime was committed by a villager who had a conflict with her.
