The situation continues to deteriorate in the Kurakhove and Vremivka directions, with Russian troops actively advancing on the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
To the west of Selidove, Ukrainian forces are unable to hold back the offensive of the enemy's 90th Tank Division, supported by the actions of the 27th Motorized Rifle Division, which is part of the 2nd Combined Army Group of the Russian Armed Forces. This was reported by military analyst of the "Information Resistance" group, Konstantin Mashovets, on his page in the Telegram channel.
In the area of responsibility "East," near Velyka Novosilka and Razdolne, the brigades of the 29th and 36th Combined Army Groups of the Russian Federation continue to advance, which also increases pressure on Ukrainian defensive positions.
The Russian command is actively employing tactics of flanking and encirclement, significantly complicating the tasks for Ukrainian military, according to the expert.
Instead of forming powerful tactical groups deep within the defense capable of delaying the enemy in case of flanking maneuvers, the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine continues to focus on holding key nodes.
This tactic leads to issues with flank defense and often results in withdrawal with losses, as seen in Avdiivka, Vuhledar, and Selidove. Currently, the enemy is applying this tactic in the Kurakhove area and is likely to attempt to expand the offensive towards Toretsk and Pokrovsk during the winter.
As an example, in the Kurakhove direction, two powerful flanking strike groups are operating. The first includes the 2nd Combined Army Group of the Central Military District, which consists of the 27th Motorized Rifle Division and the 90th Tank Division. They are actively advancing towards the boundaries of Novotroitske - Ukrainka, threatening the southern shore of the Kurakhove Reservoir and leading to an encirclement of Pokrovsk from the south, the expert noted.
