In the three main directions of the occupiers' offensive – Pokrovsk, Novopavlivka, and Vremivka – the situation and dynamics are currently quite different.
Military analyst and coordinator of the "Information Resistance" group, Konstantin Mashovets, reported this on his Telegram channel.
According to the expert, in the Pokrovsk and Novopavlivka directions, Russian occupying forces have evidently shifted from attempts to break through, even at a tactical level, to a very slow pushback of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' front-line units in the areas they need. However, in the previously mentioned Vremivka direction, the enemy command seems to still hold out hope of attempting a flanking maneuver.
Furthermore, Konstantin Mashovets added that the question remains open as to whether this change in the methodology of the occupiers' offensive in the Pokrovsk and Novopavlivka directions was forced or not.
"Because they still have, albeit limited, opportunities to increase the intensity and scale of their attacking/storming actions in these directions," – noted Konstantin Mashovets.
Additionally, the military expert emphasized that it is important not to forget that Russian troops are also conducting limited tactical offensive operations in the Kursk, Kupiansk, Lyman, Kramatorsk, and Toretsk directions, and they have already achieved certain results throughout January.
