The total losses of North Korean military personnel in the Kursk region (killed/wounded) have already exceeded 4,000 individuals.

This information was shared by military-political analyst Alexander Kovalenko from the "Information Resistance" group in his Telegram channel.

Kovalenko reminded that the Russian Federation began deploying North Korean troops in combat operations in the Kursk region from late October to early November 2024. The majority of the losses among the DPRK military occurred in December and the first half of January.

According to the expert, no Russian formation operating in a narrow section of the front has suffered such significant losses, with up to 80-90 bodies per day. The 12,000 North Korean soldiers sent to fight in the Kursk region represent an understrength army corps by Russian standards, and a third of them have already been lost in just a few months.

Therefore, the expert believes that a second wave of military personnel from the DPRK is inevitable, and it is likely to arrive before the remaining 12,000 are completely depleted, especially considering that the command of the "North" enemy troop grouping has failed to regain control over the Kursk region before Donald Trump's inauguration, and they will not be able to accomplish this in the near future.

"And this is even without considering the quagmire in which the 'Lapinets' are stuck in the northern Kharkiv region, between Liptsy and Volchansk," Kovalenko added.
