The situation in the Kupiansk direction in the Kharkiv region is currently very dangerous and genuinely raises concerns.
This was reported by military expert, retired Colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Sergey Grabsky, in an interview with Angelina Pychik.
According to the military expert, the issue is not solely that the Russian occupation forces have crossed the Oskil River near Novomlynsk, but rather that we are compelled to divert our additional reserves and resources to address this.
"As you can understand, objectively, a water obstacle serves as an auxiliary factor to not maintain the corresponding number of forces and means, but possibly to retain some there. In the event of a crossing, it means diverting our resources to other sections of the front. If the enemy succeeds in their actions and breaks through to the road leading to the settlement of Dvurechne, a direct path to Kupiansk opens up, and this is extremely problematic," – stated Sergey Grabsky.
The military expert noted that while the situation does not appear too alarming at the moment, this threat must be taken into account.
"I hope that our military command will employ all measures to push back the enemy in that section of the front. But it is certainly true that, taking advantage of the fact that we are focusing our main attention on the Donetsk region, the enemy is attempting to advance in certain areas of the front. As you can see, sometimes they succeed.
At what cost, we understand, but they do succeed. And we are forced to react, we have to redeploy reserves, we are compelled to counterattack the enemy instead of utilizing these reserves on other critical sections of the front," – explained Sergey Grabsky.
